A Temporary Love of Youth

They spoke in silence
Inside the spacious room,
Where the two sat separately

There was a voice in her
And a voice in him
That craved to express
Their sentiment, for the other

But, the jittery butterflies
In their stomach
Held their tongues

Thoughts were revised
And revised
And stayed unspoken

Though he wanted her
To know the secrets his heart
Holds for her attentive ears
In addition to knowing her secrets
Relating to him

They were still only youths
Both fearing the other presumptuous rejection.
